Wood Deck Options
IPE, Iron Wood, Teak Wood
This particular hardwood has a few aliases depending on where ou are and who you're speaking with. IPE (pronounced Ee-pay) is a very common name used as well as Iron Wood and Teak Wood. This hardwood is used on decks and docks alike. It is an extremely dense wood and will hold up to the outside elements longer than any other wood on the market.
Cedar
Cedar has a long history of use in decking and housing. It’s a durable wood that is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attacks, and resists moisture absorption, so it tends to last longer, needs less maintenance, and doesn’t warp or split as easily. A cedar deck can last for 15-20 years or more, depending on maintenance and environment.
Kiln Dried

Pressure Treated Pine 5/4" x 6"
Pressure treating is a preservative process that helps wood withstand the elements and wards off termites, microorganisms and fungal decay. It is without a doubt the most cost-effective decking available.
Pressure Treated Pine 2" x 6"
Pressure Treated Pine using 2x6's instead of 5/4" is a thicker stronger way to go. Keep in mind the finish color of each deck will depend on the color of stain applied as well as the type of wood.
